This session left me speechless. It was utter chaos, and hysterical. We pretty much lost all control and the kids ran the show. There was no bargaining, no bribing, no changing their minds. What is was, was real life. I loved seeing their personalities, and when we let them be themselves – the smiles followed. While I love the smiling, happy pictures – I ADORE the out takes!
It was so great to see this family again. Even better this time since little “D” was actually happy to see me. He ran out of the car and came over and gave me a big hug. Quite an improvement from our last session when he wanted nothing to do with me. He is such a cute boy and growing up so fast. He is also going to be a big brother soon.
We have been having non-stop rain the last two weeks which means lots of cancelled and rescheduled sessions. There is one benefit to this extra time – I am able to squeeze in more newborn sessions! While I would have loved to take this little beauty outside for some shots too, we kept it in the studio. We kept the session pretty natural with earth tones and then added some beautiful jewel tone colors in which complemented her perfectly.
This handsome boy surprised his mom and dad by arriving a month early, exactly like his big sister did 2 years ago. He also was born at the same exact birth weight. Pretty neat! For a 2nd baby he was such a tiny little peanut. He preferred to snuggle more than sleep or pose for the beginning of his session, but luckily once he fell asleep he let me do my thing. Such a cute little guy, I’m excited that I will get to see him again in a few weeks to take some sibling and family photos!
This cutie pie was not happy to see me for her 1 year session, very similar to her 9 month session. We have had non stop rain so we did her session in the studio the other week. She would have much preferred to just snuggle with her mom. I enlisted the help of my 2 daughters to help distract her and hopefully get a few smiles out of her. We did manage to get a few, and then we figured how to really make her smile. Bring on the cake. She had no problem with that part of the session. She went right for the cake and was a happy camper after that! A girl after my own heart.
