I had the pleasure of meeting this fun couple yesterday. We not only have a mutual friend in common, but I also found out there are also originally from the Boston area. We started off inside and then braved the cold and wind to get some outdoor shots. I know the conditions weren’t the best, but I think it was so worth it! I had so much fun meeting and getting to know the two of you and thank you for trusting me with your photos.
My niece Alida is in town this weekend. Her brother came home from Afghanistan yesterday so she flew down to be here for his homecoming. We decided to head out for a bit and have a quick photo session. We’re calling it our trial run for her senior pictures next year. She’s grown up to be quite a beautiful girl.
My daughter turned four years old this past weekend. I can’t believe she is already four! We took her home from the hospital on Valentine’s day, so this holiday will always be extra special to me. Olivia wanted a Tangled theme because she is all about some princesses, so a Tangled theme she got! We spent the last week or two getting ready for the party. I let her help with the decorations so that we could spend some quality time together. It also helped make the party special since it had our own unique touches to it rather than just store bought items – not to mention is saves a little money! Ok so anyone who has seen Tangled is familiar with the story of Rapunzel, the hair and the tower. Ah, the tower… let’s start with that. Get ready because this is pretty AMAZING….
I was speechless when i saw it. Even pictures don’t do it justice. it was perfect in every way. So where did the magnificent cake come from you ask??
Iriene at www.artyliciouscakes.com. She is amazing. And sweet. You need to call her. Now. Seriously, call her. She is super talented. In our discussions I just mentioned to her that we were having a Tangled party and would some how like to incorporate the tower in it. I thought maybe a simple cake and a small tower somewhere on the cake. I should have known better by looking at her pictures. She incorporated the tower all right. What a beautiful centerpiece it made. Not only was it gorgeous, but it was also delicious! Even my husband was impressed with the cake, and trust me he does not get excited over something like cake. We will definitely be using Iriene again in the future and I am so glad to have gotten the chance to meet and work with her. Not only did I find a great new vendor but I made a new friend as well. Please stop by www.artyliciouscakes.com
or her facebook page –https://www.facebook.com/pages/Artylicious-Cakes/172283269496404 and leave her some love. You won’t be sorry!
To say my daughter was pleased is an understatement. You can see from her smile and her eyes just how much she adored it! We didn’t have the heart to touch the tower. It’s actually still sitting on our counter. It’s too perfect to ruin!
Here are some of the decorations we made for the party. We made hair braid crowns for each of the girls. We also made wishing lanterns and hung them around the house. Instead of streamers we strung yards of yellow yarn as “Tangled” hair. My daughter LOVED it.
I think the party was a huge success. My only problem is how are we going to top this next year???
I’m sure most of you will remember this adorable little one from this summer. She’s still just as cute, if not cuter and now she’s 2! She’s also going to be a big sister in just a few weeks. While the weather wasn’t very cooperative today, we decided to head to the butterfly house to hide from all the rain. We managed to get some good shots in before little “N” insisted we go find the cow. I can’t compete with a cow, but we at least managed to get some good shots before we headed out in search of the cow =)
