Yesterday was a beautiful 70 degree day, in January! I got to spend the afternoon photographing the “W” family. They had family here for the Holidays and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to capture some family pictures together. While the men certainly were not excited about having it done, they humored me and put up with me long enough to make sure we got some great shots. I hope it wasn’t too painful for them, and that they’ll think it was worth it once they see the pictures. I certainly think it was and I’m pretty sure the rest of the family will agree. Besides capturing the typical family pictures, I tried to also capture some of them moments that happened in between. Often times those are the pictures I like the best. This was definitely one of those times. Here’s your sneak peek, I had a hard time narrowing it down. I seem to have that problem a lot. Maybe I’ll work harder on that in 2012.
I got to snuggle on my first newborn of 2012 – little baby Edward. He was so tiny and sweet. Edward was actually born on his due date which is pretty rare! Mom and dad were beaming with pride and you can see how much little Edward is loved. He’s named for two very special people and he’s already living up to their namesakes. We kept things a bit more natural for this session just focusing on what’s important – capturing that newborn goodness. It felt good to be around babies again since I took the month of December off. I can’t thank Edward and his family enough for trusting me with their precious new bundle and allowing me the honor to capture his pictures. I know I say it too often, but I love what I do and am so thankful to all of you for letting me do what I love. Here’s your sneak peek mom and dad, I know there will be a lot of anxious people waiting to see them.
Oh sweet baby Bexley, you were the perfect little model today. You slept without making a peep for all your pictures (until the family pictures that is!). You were perfect in every way =) I wish I could have kept you all day. You may remember mom and dad, they were also the perfect models for their maternity session this summer. I had so much fun with this session and was able to try a couple of new set ups for the holidays. It was so, so nice to see you again mom and dad and I can’t thank you enough for trusting me with Bexley’s newborn pictures. I hope you love them as much as I do =)
Annie Kate, what a doll! Such a sweet and beautiful little girl. I had so much fun with her and her family yesterday. I had been emailing with mom about the session and she has some specific ideas and shots she wanted to capture -and I love that! I love when a client tells me what they want, it helps me know which direction to take with the shoot. As you can see, this session was about being casual and having fun. While we didn’t get all the shots (any mom will know you can try to plan everything, but it’s all up to the kids), I think we did pretty good. Annie Kate let me know when she was done, she had bigger plans for the day – she was going to get a Christmas tree. How can I top that? Here’s your sneak peek mom, I hope we got some of the shots you wanted. Thanks for spending the morning with me and letting me play with your sweet baby girl =)
