Happy New Year! I welcomed Baby “C” into the studio this week as my first newborn session of 2016. What a great way to start the year as he was an absolute dream to work with. He has amazing hair, skin and features and was such a good little sleeper. He actually came on Christmas eve, so was the best Christmas present his parents could ask for. We kept the session pretty simple and organic focusing on baby. Mom did bring along the saree from her wedding however and I am so glad she did. I love how beautiful it is, and how it will now even carry more special memories for this family. Congratulations to this new family of 3!

Baby “M” was an absolute dream to work with. Her hair, her cheeks, her sweet face. I had so much fun getting to know her parents and capture this special time in their lives as their family grows. They even brought along their sweet pup Snickerdoodle who was also great for the session even posing with his new big sister.

Look at this beautiful girl, and her beautiful momma! She was such a little rock star for her session. She slept so good while we went through out posing and then when she did wake she was calm and so alert. I love the eye contact she was giving me, almost like she was keeping an eye on me. Us newborn photographers spend so much time trying to get those sleepy baby shots but often times the awake shots that we capture are the ones that parents and grandparents love most.
We have been having non-stop rain the last two weeks which means lots of cancelled and rescheduled sessions. There is one benefit to this extra time – I am able to squeeze in more newborn sessions! While I would have loved to take this little beauty outside for some shots too, we kept it in the studio. We kept the session pretty natural with earth tones and then added some beautiful jewel tone colors in which complemented her perfectly.
This handsome boy surprised his mom and dad by arriving a month early, exactly like his big sister did 2 years ago. He also was born at the same exact birth weight. Pretty neat! For a 2nd baby he was such a tiny little peanut. He preferred to snuggle more than sleep or pose for the beginning of his session, but luckily once he fell asleep he let me do my thing. Such a cute little guy, I’m excited that I will get to see him again in a few weeks to take some sibling and family photos!
