I woke up today and could not speak – at all. I completely lost my voice. Great for my kids, not so much for my session! How was I going to get the attention of a 2 year old and 2 month old with no voice?? To say I was nervous about this session was an understatement but with a full calendar I didn’t have room to reschedule so I braved it. To my amazement my hoarse, barely there whisper did not scare off big sister “S”. In fact by the end of the session we were off by ourselves playing Simon Says, although it was more like charades =) Needless to say the session went well and we got some great shots. Mom and dad were super understanding and helped me with getting everyone situated since I couldn’t communicate very well. You have such a sweet and beautiful family, and I’m sorry I wasn’t 100 percent today. I enjoyed getting to know you and capture this time in your lives for you, and I hope you enjoy your pictures!
I got to spend my morning with this handsome fella today! I can’t believe he is 6 months old already. It seems like I just took his newborn photos. Isn’t he just ADORABLE! He’s got the most beautiful blue eyes and smile. He’s just learning to sit up and actually loved lying on his back for me. Most babies at this age try to roll over or worm away from me, but not “JF”. He just lied there and gave me the cutest little faces and smiles. He made my job easy today! It was so nice to see him again, and mom and dad. I love to see my families, you can tell how much they are loving watching their little baby grow up!
I got to spend a beautiful fall morning with the “G” family. Grandma and Grandpa are visiting from out of state and baby “L” recently turned 6 months so it was the perfect time to go take some pictures. Mom had seen pictures from Yates Mill and thought that would be the perfect location. It had rained earlier in the morning so things were a bit wet, but it actually worked to our favor since there was plenty of water coming over the falls. Both big sister and little sister were very cooperative and gave us plenty of smiles. Normally having 6 people in a picture can be hard as someone is almost always looking the other way, or blinking but this family did great and we got plenty of great shots. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek “G” family, and thank you for coming to see me again. I love getting to see your girls grow up =)
It seems like I just had a session with this blue eyed beauty. The last 6 months have flown by and now she is turning one next weekend. She still has those amazing baby blues, and now she has two cute little bottom teeth to add to her adorable smile. We met at the Raleigh rose garden to enjoy some beautiful fall weather and blooms. Mom brought along some balloons to celebrate the occasion and then we took some fall themed pictures with some pumpkins and an adorable smocked dress. She looked so cute in everything it was hard to narrow down her images! Here’s your sneak peek mom and dad! I’ll see you in a few weeks for your holiday session =)
This session was kind of neat for me. I actually went to school with baby “C’s” mom. We both moved to North Carolina in the late 90’s, but it wasn’t until recently that I learned she was down here as well. She emailed me asking for a one year session for her sweet son “C”. I of course was thrilled. We met at a local park and after briefly catching up we got right to work capturing this special time in their lives. Big sister and brother came along to help entertain and get some smiles out of the birthday for us. I of course couldn’t let them get away without snapping a picture or two of them as well. Mom told me that they weren’t picture ready – not wearing the right clothes or hair done up but I still love the pictures we captured of them. That is everyday life, and it’s important to capture those moments as well. Besides all three are absolutely adorable with the most beautiful brown eyes so any picture of them at all is going to be adorable.
While “C’ wasn’t giving me his famous big smiles, we did manage to get a few out of him. He just wanted to make me work for them, and I did. I danced, sang songs, barked like a dog. You name it – I tried it. I got a few smiles, but more “what are you doing crazy lady” looks too. When it was time for the cake smash, he rocked that. That cake was destroyed in record time, and yet he hardly got any on him at all – except for his hands.
I had so much fun spending time with this family and getting to know them. Mom, you look amazing and just like you did in high school. Your family is beautiful and I’m honored that you chose me to capture these memories. Here is your extra large sneak peek since it will be a little longer than usual for the gallery since we’re headed to Disney next week. Special thanks to my friend Amy back home for the referral. Hopefully next time you are in town visiting you’ll let me capture a few pictures of your beautiful family =)
