Newborn baby Nolan came to visit me last week and was a dream to work with. He was a good little sleeper and his features were amazing. He had the most perfect lips and and longest eyelashes. One of them was so long it had a cute little bent curl at the end, I loved it. We kept his session simple and classic using colors from his nursery. I adore the shot of him in his dad’s hands. I had such a hard time deciding if I liked the black and white version better or the color. I love the artistic look of the black and white image, but included both in their gallery so they can decide.
After we capture the class shots we then threw in a couple cute shots with his puppy from home and a St. Patrick’s day shot since he was born in March and has an Irish name. When it was time for parent shots he wasn’t quite as cooperative. First he peed and pooped all over dad, then we had to feed him and then swaddle him to get him back into a deep sleep. Mom Really wanted a naked baby shot, and luckily he finally gave in for us. I had so many favorites from his session, here just a few. Since he is one of my baby planners I can’t wait to see how much he has grown at his 6 month and 1 year sessions.
Look at this beautiful newborn baby girl! She came to visit me the other week and I instantly fell in love. I first met mom and dad last month for their maternity session. I instantly knew we would be a good match as they were so fun and easy going and I had a great time walking around Yates Mill park getting to know them. I also had a pretty good feeling their baby girl was going to be stunning and have some gorgeous hair, and boy that couldn’t be any more true. Just look at her hair, and those lashes! They make me swoon! Not only was she gorgeous, but she also was so good for her session. She kept teasing me with smiles every time I put my camera down, but boy she could not hold back the huge smile she gave when we draped her in her mother’s wedding Sari. I absolutely ADORE that shot, and hope mom does too! We wrapped her up in a sweet little knit teddy bear hat and wrap to make her look like a polar bear. She has a polar bear and penguin themed nursery which is just too cute! Of course we had mom bring along her stuffed penguin to use in the session as well since we also used it at their maternity shoot.
Thank you so much for sharing these moments with me, and trusting me with your precious baby girl. She is so adored already!
I first met this family almost 3 years ago for a maternity shoot for their soon to be son. It was one of my favorite maternity sessions, and still is. Mom is simply stunning and such a natural in front of the camera. The love between the two of them and their excitement was so apparent. The session was casual, fun and so enjoyable. When mom contacted me earlier this year to tell me they were expecting again I was thrilled to be able to watch their family grow from 3 to 4. After a few weeks of reschedules, we finally we able to meet up this past weekend. Mom was still just as stunning as ever. The session however was a little bit more work than last time, and I mean that in the nicest way, the good thing is that I was using a new camera, the best canon camera with flip screen – technomono. Now we also had a two year old very active boy who wanted nothing more than to run and just be a kid. He definitely was not interested in having his pictures taken. Luckily we found out he is quite taken with the ladies so we had my girls come help out for the studio part of our session, and then while out at the park he would stop and stare (and sometimes chase) some of the women walking by. This at least gave me an opportunity to grab a few shots of him while he was still.
I can’t wait to meet this sweet baby girl on the way. With her parents genes she is sure to be a gorgeous baby. I had so much fun with big brothers newborn photos as he was a stunning baby, so am hoping that her session will be just as fun. I am not exactly sure how the sibling shots will go. I have some brainstorming to do to see if we can find a way to make those a success!
Another beautiful baby girl to blog! Meet baby Rowan. She looked pretty in purple, and green, and white, and you get the idea. She was basically perfect in every way. We started off the session with my typical posing workflow and then moved onto some prop shots with flowers and then she was still so sleepy so we did some natural baby led posing at the end. I love these more natural shots because it really is the baby just relaxing and posing themselves in the way that they are most comfortable. They just look so innocent and baby like. I feel like these are the timeless, classic images that you will look at and remember how your sweet baby was.
So many beautiful babies came to visit me this past fall. That was probably one of the biggest reasons I fell so behind on my blog. Too many sessions and so much editing! Not to mention the business of the holiday season with family and my girls schedules.
Layla was so such a beautiful baby. I just adored her features – those lips and cheeks make me swoon! Of course we had to do a collage of those features to remember them. We used lots of soft, natural colors for session letter her be the center of attention. She slept so well and looked so perfectly sweet in all of the set ups. I wish I could have kept her all day to keep playing and snuggling on her.
