This sweet couple is waiting on a girl to arrive this summer. I met them on a hot and gray summer evening. We were hoping to be able to catch the sunset but we were met with dark, gray skies. We made the best of it though. Mom chose to meet at Raulston arboretum in Raleigh which was the perfect location. She will be the one to tell you that her favorite color is floral which is perfect for an arboretum photoshoot. We walked around and admired all the beautiful flowers in bloom, which can be rare for summer in Raleigh. I absolutely loved the dress this expectant momma chose for her session. It was gorgeous and looked beautiful against all the blooms. I had a wonderful time getting to know this couple and can’t wait to meet their sweet baby girl in just a couple of weeks for her newborn session!
I first met this family almost 3 years ago for a maternity shoot for their soon to be son. It was one of my favorite maternity sessions, and still is. Mom is simply stunning and such a natural in front of the camera. The love between the two of them and their excitement was so apparent. The session was casual, fun and so enjoyable. When mom contacted me earlier this year to tell me they were expecting again I was thrilled to be able to watch their family grow from 3 to 4. After a few weeks of reschedules, we finally we able to meet up this past weekend. Mom was still just as stunning as ever. The session however was a little bit more work than last time, and I mean that in the nicest way, the good thing is that I was using a new camera, the best canon camera with flip screen – technomono. Now we also had a two year old very active boy who wanted nothing more than to run and just be a kid. He definitely was not interested in having his pictures taken. Luckily we found out he is quite taken with the ladies so we had my girls come help out for the studio part of our session, and then while out at the park he would stop and stare (and sometimes chase) some of the women walking by. This at least gave me an opportunity to grab a few shots of him while he was still.
I can’t wait to meet this sweet baby girl on the way. With her parents genes she is sure to be a gorgeous baby. I had so much fun with big brothers newborn photos as he was a stunning baby, so am hoping that her session will be just as fun. I am not exactly sure how the sibling shots will go. I have some brainstorming to do to see if we can find a way to make those a success!
This session last fall was so much fun! This sweet couple contacted me wanting to capture such an exciting time in their life. They were expecting twins – a boy and girl. I met them at their home which has a wonderful park in the neighborhood – and one that I am very familiar with as I used to live in the neighborhood right behind theirs. I instantly got excited because I was familiar with the features at the park and the gorgeous evening light that it has. The weather was gorgeous, and so was this glowing mama to be. I had a great time just strolling through the park getting to know them. The session was laid back and easy, and so enjoyable. Definitely a pleasant change from chasing around little ones.
Since I am so behind on blogging, their sweet babies are already home and a couple months old now. This session probably seems like forever ago for them!
Twining! Our good friends brought their twins by last month to get some updated photos of them. It’s hard to believe they are 9 months already! It seems like I just took their newborn photos. The session definitely was similar in some ways. One was always cooperative, and the other was off wanting to explore. Just like their newborn session. Was was sleeping and cooperative, and the other awake and wanting to eat. It’s no like, twins are hard work! Getting them both to sit at the same time and look at us was no easy task. Lots of laughs were had! I can only imagine how hard it will be once they are both walking! While it may be twice the work, it’s also twice the fun and love!
